Pic add - Pheasant added to Birds

A lot of Pheasant noise around the reserve this morning. This species breeds on the reserve but I suspect these latest ones may be from a local release.

Spoony, lobeless, hairy leaves and a hairy stem rising to single flower head sourrounded by hairy bracted calyx. Fruit in another head pappus of simple hairs and brick red fruits. Subtly red striped beneath.

Diary - Black-tailed Godwit still present
