Some nice invert activity around the reserve this morning. I picked up a spider and a couple of hoverflies (two of same species), which should give me the tenth hoverfly of the year. Also a mushroom - a Mycena sp. - from the Mossy Barrens. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get to grips with grasses shortly. I see several species coming into flower.
Here's a Carder Bumblebee head first in a White Dead-nettle.
Orange Tip males and females were also about
And Nettle Tap Moths were also around the White Dead-nettle
