Deer Shield, Pluteus cervinus

Some nice mushrooms found in the rain on Sunday turned out to be the above. At first the gills were white/cream and I assumed the spores would be white. Within 24 hours though shocking pink spores had turned the gills pink and the identity was revealed. In reality I discovered the identity before checking the spore print in preparation but it was a spectacular confirmation of the genus at least.

The insides

Pink spores developed
