Diary 8-14th Jan, 2014


8th January
Big excitement of the day is the arrival of the police to deal with someone using the car park and a hire van in a "professional capacity".

9th January
No reserve visit - identified Frullania tamarisci from sample though.

10th January
Aurora Borealis was apparently visible in different places in the UK last night and possibly tonight too. I didn't see it, but the sky was nice this morning - bright and cold, Tufty numbers were up to 5 6

Pond half frozen over. Still enough space for some Teal and Wigeon

Couple of additions overnight from the "lab" - Hynum andoi and Blushing Bracket, Daedaleopsis confragosa. Moving steadily towards a target of 100 species in January, with a couple of new species thrown in for good measure
